U-46 Superintendent to Host Monthly Community Meetings
School District U-46 school superintendent Dr. José M. Torres wants to hear what is on your mind, and has scheduled time to listen. Beginning in September, Torres will begin holding monthly open sessions to meet with U-46 community members. The first meeting will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 10 in the library of Elgin High School, 1200 Maroon Drive in Elgin. Every other month, Torres will hold a noontime “brown bag lunch” for community members who are available during the day.
“The evening sessions at Elgin High all precede the Citizens’ Advisory Council (CAC) meeting. So community members who have an interest in becoming more involved with our school system may find a natural connection with the CAC,” said Torres.
For the brown bag lunch, community members are encouraged to bring their lunches and their ideas.
